As the center point of your face, your nose significantly impacts your overall sense of facial harmony. Dr. Mark Fisher’s craniofacial surgery training enables him to perform rhinoplasty and septoplasty at an advanced level to obtain both aesthetic and functional results. This procedure can alter the size and shape of your nose to enable you to enjoy the look you deserve and breathe the way you should.
How do I prepare for my rhinoplasty?
Your preoperative consultations with Dr. Fisher are a great opportunity to learn everything there is to know about your procedure. He’ll walk you through the ins and outs of the surgery itself, and will give you detailed instructions for both preparation and recovery. Our goal is to ensure that you’re as comfortable as possible, so you can relax and look forward to your incredible results.
How long will my rhinoplasty procedure take?
Rhinoplasty typically takes about two hours, but this will vary based on the specifics of your individual treatment plan. Dr. Fisher will detail the specifics of your procedure, but you will be able to go home the same day as your procedure.
What’s the recovery period like after a rhinoplasty?
Most patients will return to the office one week after surgery to have their splint removed and are back to their normal routines within two to three weeks. You’ll experience some bruising and swelling, which will fade over time, and we’ll ensure that you have everything you need to stay as comfortable as possible. We typically recommend that you avoid any strenuous activities for at least four to six weeks. Dr. Fisher and his team will provide you with very specific instructions and will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and ensure that you are healing nicely.
Will this procedure leave visible scarring?
In most cases, rhinoplasty is done through a tiny incision across the bottom of the nose which is often imperceptible once healed. Sometimes, rhinoplasty can be performed with no visible scar through incisions made inside your nose. Any scarring will be minimal, and Dr. Fisher will help you understand exactly what you can expect as you enjoy the results of your rhinoplasty procedure.
